• Is the water at the campground safe to drink?

    No. The water available for trailers and general use is not safe for drinking.
    Drinking water and soft drinks can be purchased at the campground store located in the office.

  • Is electricity available at the campsites?

    No. There is no electricity available anywhere in the campground.

  • Can I use a generator?

    Yes, but only inverter generators are recommended.
    They run more quietly and help maintain the peaceful, family‑friendly atmosphere.
    Solar power is also encouraged.

  • What are your seasonal rates?

    For the 2026, seasonal rates start at $1,695.00 + HST.

  • Is the campground family‑friendly?

    Very much so. Horseshoe Lake Campground is a family‑oriented environment.

  • What seasons is the campground open?

    Horseshoe Lake Campground is open during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. We are generally open from May 15th to the day after the Canadian Thanksgiving Holiday.

  • Can I bring my dog?

    Yes! Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on a leash when unsupervised. This helps ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all campers.

  • Can I have a campfire on my lot?

    Yes. Campfires are allowed at Horseshoe Lake Campground.
    All visitors must follow local Ontario fire bans and restrictions, which may change throughout the season. When a fire ban is in effect, campfires are not permitted until the ban is lifted.

  • What types of boats are allowed on the lake?

    Only non‑motorized boats are permitted.
    Guests may enjoy kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats.

  • Is swimming allowed?

    Yes. The lake is known for its clear water, excellent swimming, and sandy beaches.

  • Can I bring my four‑wheeler, dirt bike or ATV?

    Yes. ATVs and dirt bikes are allowed at Horseshoe Lake Campground.
    All riders must wear a helmet at all times, and we ask that guests operate their vehicles safely and respectfully to maintain a family‑friendly environment.
